I've seen references to a "Panic Button" on cars with SKS. Can't find anything in the manual about this. Is it only cars in the USA that have this? Is there the equivalent on other versions of the Prius?
on your keyless fob on the back side is there a small red button? if so that's the "panic button" being refered to.
mine is on the front of the fob. its red. gotta a pic of a speaker...or hehehe...my son thought it was a hot cup of coffee...have to admit, he does have a point
We don't have them here in the UK unfortunatly. only after market alarms have them. i'm not too happy about that really as i live in south london and sometimes i'm on my own. i wish there was an auto door lock as well. not to mention when you hit the unlock button it unlocks all the doors instead of just the driver door. so if someone decided to hope in a car jack me they could. did you get alloy wheels on yours? i thought i had ordered them but i noticed last night they were covers!
For those of you who have the panic button on your FOB, does it seem like you need to be about 10-20 feet away from the car before it actually works? Maybe I just need to have the battery replaced...
opps sorry Dave is right it's on the front of the HSD fob and on the back of the Classic fob and I was running on memory.
They put that "panic button" way too close to the lock/unlock. Twice I've hit mine by accident. I learned the hard way not to try to operate the fob with gloved hands.
Yeah, only NA versions have the PANIC button. On the Prius one, because it's in the front, you have to hold the button rather than a quick press like it is on other Toyota fobs.
So if UK doesn't have the panic.. does that mean that they don't have the 3 modes of keyless entry? In the US you can change the unlock pattern when you touch the door. You have the choice to open only the door you touch.. then it's something like open all doors on every door.. or open driver door only when touched, but open all when any other door is touched. or.. they have to do it some other way.. but our manual uses panic as a program button.
I've no idea. In fact I would not know an alloy wheel if I saw one and certainly don't know what the significance is, if any. I thought all wheels were made of metal (except for the tyres) and that most metals are alloys anyway.
We actually don't have the REAL SKS here in the UK either. i asked about it and they said it's not over here yet. we only have the fob that you have two buttons on lock and unlock and it's unlock all doors at the same time. and no panic button OXO alloy wheels are very strong wheels they don't have floppy distructable hubcaps on them.
