Hmm, that's an interesting part... Wonder if a normal pri one would fit? I wonder how it works? When I saw steering dampener I was thinking it would be a shock absorber of sorts...
It looks like a tuned mass/spring combo arranged to absorb vibrations along the axis of the steering column. The leaf spring mounts indicate it would be tuning out structural vibrations along the axis of the steering column, not input from the front wheels.
Ahh... It all makes sense now. I had the image of the old setup on my 85 Benz. I would still be interested to know how it changes the feel of the car.
My Aqua 2014 has slight rattling sound felt in the steering when driving on small sharp edged potholes, is this thing going to help, anyone with technical help please.
I dont think so. If the rattle is from the steering tube then the only solution would be to get the tube with new bushes. Get your car checked from some expert alignment shop, they will put the car on lift and then hold the wheel and shake it to hear for any noise. If your car is high milage only then you should have this problem.
I had spacers installed , 1 inch in front & 1 1/2 inch back could this be the cause, people with spacers say they never had this problem. please name a workshop in Karachi.Thanks
