Hello out there in Prius land. TODAY is THE day. We are going to pick up our 2006 Classic Silver Pkg. 6 here in Virginia Beach, VA. We've been looking forward to this day for about three months! It will be a big change for my hubby, as he will be trading in a mammoth Lincoln Towncar that's begun a downward spiral, mechanically speaking. Not too different for me, as I drive a silver Acura Integra. Hubby saw the car last Friday and picked up its manual, which he's been reading throughout the weekend. Ahh, anticipation!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Er, I mean I picked up my Prius today. I was given an estimate of "late January" by one dealer, but yesterday I found another who had the exact car I wanted in stock and was willing to sell it to me for MSRP. (Well, almost exact. I wanted the gray interior, but all they had was the tan interior. But close enough). Just to reiterate: wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
dealer called today. My 06 Seaside Pearl #8 w/ grey interior is in. I'll be picking it up Friday after some mods (tint, Invisibra, body side mouldings and anti-rust) have been completed. I'm getting excited!!!!!!
Our new 06 Prius, Pkg. 6, (classic silver), is currently getting use to its new home, our garage, of course. It rained today here in Virginia Beach, so it got its first nature bath. Dealer threw in three free years AAA membership, "ding" coverage for 90 days, 5 oil changes, two huge golf umbrellas, a $150 discount off MSRP and -- tada!, an Ipod too. Oh, and the manual came in a nice zip up case that at least one nauga (as in naugahyde) probably died for.
tunabreath, you scoundrel, you! Was the car you found a "drop"? Or just an unspoken-for part of an allocation? In any case,...W00T!
Wow, that's a haul! Please make note of that dealer on one of our "good dealer" threads. Was he (or she) cleaning out his/her office or something?
I am getting the Driftwood Pearl package # 7 sometime this week. Not getting the leather and not getting the Toyota protection package. Was originally thinking about getting the silver pine mica but my dealer told me there is the driftwood pearl #7 coming in this week and I have to admit I like the Driftwood pearl better now.
I have no idea. My first theory (during the "this is too good to be true" phase) was that the car had been on the lot for a long time and used for many many test drives. But it only had 7 miles on the odometer, so that wasn't it.
I have a question, when you buy your preordered Prius at the dealership is there room for negotion in price at all. I am getting package #7 and according to dealer there is one person also interested in this one too, if I don't take it. Just corious as to what is a fair price for this package with no leather.
My parents had a Avalon in driftwood until they sold it to get their Prius... very nice color they like their white Prius but I could tell they realy wanted that color. You will like it Enjoy!
Blue #4 ordered in Late August (as a 2005) but we are more than content to report that it has become a silver #4 2006 to be delivered late this week.
I placed my order yesterday in Staten Island, NY. Seaside Peal, package #7. I could have walked off of the lot with a Black one, but I really wanted the nav. I may have to wait a few weeks.
A few weeks!?!?!? I've been waiting since September to get my Seaside Pearl #8. Although I have had the chance to purchase several other model/color combos. All of which I have declined.
When they searched the computer, they found two other Seaside Pearls at dealers who were not quite local. They said that I could possibly have it as soon as next week if they swapped with another dealership. The only problem is that it would be driven from the other dealership and potentially be hundreds of miles. Your wait since september now has me wondering if I should go back and tell them that I don't mind the millage.
I have "pre-ordered" a 2006 Prius at - $500.00 off MSRP. I think of my order as more of a color/package request as I've been steadily declining silver package #8's since 1/1/06 (I requested Seaside or Driftwood #8) The lastest quote is the end of the month for my "requested" combo. We'll see if it arrives on time <_< I'm not sure what discounts others are getting off 2006 pre-orders. I purchased a 2005 Prius back in May 2005 and requested a 2006 in September for delivery after 1/1/206 from the same dealer... as of today, I'm still waiting
I began to look for the information about 06 Prius on Dec 20,2005 Then I contacted 4 local toyota dealers. I had the test drive of 06 Prius on Dec 30,2005 I purchased one Prius (silver pine mica with package #2) on Jan 3, 2006.
My Margaret was totaled NYE's when a Pathfinder ran a red light going 50mph. Could have been a fatal collision, but I walked away with broken ribs & teeth and a small collapse in my lung. On the upside, the guy's insurance company suddenly notified me that when they officially totaled my car, I'd lose my rental in 24-48 hrs, so.....find an alternative! I started burning up the phone lines. I found Miss Paisley, put down money to hold her sight unseen, and picked up my '06 Prius a week later (Jan 20th)....The color and package that I'd built as my dream car on Toyota.com. There's a year's wait for these cars in my area, so the belief is that my mom (who died 1.5 yrs ago) kept me safe in the wreck and finagled my getting the car I'd been drooling over for 4 years...I still can't believe it, and no one else can, either. Took me days to recover just from the trip to pick her up, but worth every moment of pain. To echo an earlier poster's reaction: wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! THANKS MOM!!
Well, I ordered my silver #6 the middle of Jan for $750 off, and no dealer extras. No word on that order... but have just been offered the same thing at a dealer 20 miles away for full MSRP plus retail floor mats which will equal about $1000 more than my deal with the first place. I'll likely take it since I can have the car in 15 days this way, and there's no word on the discounted one, natch.
