Well you can still congratulate someone without them winning anything. Actually you can congratulate someone just based off something special or pleasant that happened, such as buying a car (which in most cases is a pleasant thing).
It's just me then. It felt awkward when someone said congratulations when I bought my car. What do I say? Thanks? No one congratulated me on buying an iPhone. People congratulated me on buying a home. Is it like that? To me, it seems to demean the the intent when someone congratulates me in having a baby. But who am I to say anything, I think it's a waste if time an energy to say good morning.
I guess it all depends on the person saying it. I usually say it when something I feel is a huge deal happens. Positive of course. I do know some people who would congratulate me on what I consider small things. No biggie. As long as it's no sweat off my back, or its not said in a sarcastic or spiteful way, I just say thanks.
Do you know if they have changed out the transaxle fluid?? Research it here. Toyota has no maintenance interval for transaxle fluid, but it very much needs to be changed and word has it that changing it first time at 30k miles is not a bad idea at all. If you need transaxle fluid changed, only let Toyota do it and see that it gets the correct fluid.
