to go along with my 2010 Gen 3 Prius. Was looking for a third car with our daughter now driving and the Leaf best fit my daily driving pattern. So far, I really like it. Fit and finish are superior to either of my Prii -- no rattles, noises and a quiet cabin even considering there is no ICE. I like the audio from the Prius but the Leaf isn't bad. Have gotten 100 miles on my 2nd and 3rd charges; well above the EPA estimate of 73 miles. Should improve slightly once the Florida summer starts to cool.

Is there an internet connection to do Traffic, Search to Nav or Pandora?

How does the Nav and Bluetooth phone work? Does the Leaf Nav grab the Phone Contacts and let you Nav to them?

Did you actually travel 100 miles w/o recharging in the middle or are you basing what you might get based on the GOM (guess-o-meter)?

...I agree Leaf/EV makes good sense for the 3rd or 4th car situation.

I'd love a Leaf...or a Focus EV...or a Tesla...or any all-electric vehicle with a 50+ Highway mile range. Unfortunately, none of them fit my income/budget. So I drive an '04 with a 4kwh add-on battery. I'm currently getting 162 mpg on my second tank since conversion. Daily commute route does not exceed 45 mph, but if I could get 10 miles highway plus 8 miles city all-electric I could cut my drive time in half.

Drove 100. I have a commute that doesn't exceed 45MPH and the regenerative braking really has a positive impact. Did some more highway driving today and while the mileage takes a hit, the car can really move.

I've done Pandora via my phone's BT. The car does have an Internet connection via AT&T and a service called Carwings. Mostly for monitoring the battery and charging status but it also updates the nav for new charging stations. You can also access the XM NavTraffic.

    Still loving this car!

Sounds great! (or, Sounds quietly great.) I hope you continue to update us on PriusChat. I put on too many miles to an EV to be my primary car, but it would be a great choice for 90% of my days if the range is as good as you're suggesting.
I have a feeling Chicago winters would prove quite a challenge to the EV range.

so basically I could get some big number like that if I use that formula miles over gallons used that's how that number is figured? I have alot to learned I just barely learned about voice commands in my car and I'm amazed by that lol.

Yeah. There are other MPG values as well. See bottom of that page.

Welcome to the club. It's somewhat hard to get a long range in the Leaf because it's so fun to floor it :D
That car has surprisingly great acceleration, and the driving experience is truly unique due to the silence. All the materials inside are a notch above the Prius', and the seats are very comfortable. Hope you enjoy your Leaf :)

Any news on the new generation Prius mileage? I want a leaf also but it's just outside my daily commute range and here in west Texas not too many recharge stations lol
