Probably a stupid question, but I can't fit a standard size Kleenex box in the space before the cup holders. Where do you guys keep it?
That's funny, I was thinking very same thing this morning as my Kleenex box slid of the passenger seat and ended up on the floor; where I couldn't reach it unless I stopped and removed my seat belt. Not sure what the solution is, but maybe we abandon the box and start buying those little plastic packs that fit nicely into the center console.
I just put some paper towels or tissues in the center console....although I think if you have a C1 there is no center console (?).
I didn't know people kept full size Kleenex boxes in their cars. I have a few napkins in the glove compartment.
I use this product: http://www.kleenex.com.au/images/products/large/soft-pack.jpg Sits on the shelf above the glove box. I often also keep a pocket pack in the space forward of the centre cup holders.
The reason I like to keep a Kleenex box in the car is because they are very easy to pick. Soft packages tends to require more efforts. Every car I owned before had a space just right for the Kleenex Box (not sure whether it's a design decision or coincident).
I keep mine on the rear seat floor. I can reach it fairly easily. Since this car is slimmer, it leaves little room between the front seats. I guess it's probably safer to have nothing in the way if you need to use the e-brake. I get seasonal allergies, so I definitely need a box of tissues in the car when I get watery eyes while driving.
Weird. I've never owned a car that can hold a full size Kleenex box anywhere. Kleenex here also sell a small box designed for car use, but I prefer the soft package. In the unlikely event it comes with, a quick sharp shake will send it down into the passenger seat where I can draw from it again if need be.
I use the smaller, square box and have it kinda wedge at the bottom of the passenger seat so I can easily lean over and grab one. Sometimes the box comes loose and ends up too far away to reach, though.
A few napkins are not adequate for the spousal unit. The box need not be full size nor full. A small box, half empty from previous duty in the house, is sufficient. Same here.
I also tend to pull a few out of the box before a drive and stuff them into that little area near the hand/parking/emergency brake ... that way, if the box does slip beyond my reach, I still have some handy.
I have the same issue. They curerently reside in the passenger seat. Then get re-located to the rear, then get downgraded to the floor or truck as I end up with more passengers in the car I've been worrying about this today, as we're leaving for a road trip this afternoon and there will be 4 of us. No clue where the kleenex box will end up now....
I also do the "fast food napkins in the the glove compartment" thing. Best place for a box looks like the shelf above the glove compartment.
Here's the solution (I'm surprised no one else posted this as I've done this for years!) --- buy a smaller box of tissues (not a soft pack and not a full size; somewhere in between). Buy a 3M soft hold sticky tab, the kind that will hold up lightweight paintings, art, jewelry, etc. that's just a couple pounds. Place the 3M sticky tab on your car's dashboard and then affix the tissue box. Voila! Admittedly, I don't own a Prius yet so I don't know if this will get in the way of instrument clusters. But on my Honda Civic, there's a spot in the center of the dashboard that doesn't interfere with either the driver's or passenger's view. Hope this helps!
My tissue box fits perfectly in the shelf above the glove cpmartment (fits in the glove bos too). I use those half-sized boxes that you find in hotel bathrooms, you can get them from Costo.
