I made an appointment at Tustin Toyota for my 10K service online. I showed up for my 9:30 appointment at 9:25. I was then informed that they were behind and it would be about a 2 hour wait. Actually took over 2. I asked about why my appointment did not allow me to get my car worked on right away. I was informed that the appointment only guaranteed that they would work on my car that day. I tried to explain how appointments work, (thinking of Sienfeld) He just said that they would get it done as soon as they could, they offered me a shuttle service. What am I missing? Do all Dealers work this way? Why would I need to drop off my car for an oil change. If it was not free, not a chance that I would have dealer service and I will skip the 15k
My service every 5k typically takes 30-60 min. Even last appointment with an alignment added only took about 50 min.
Usually I get that delay if I'm late. Toyota of Pasadena was really quick when I took ours there for a 6 month/5k, (and was on time like you were.)
Did you let them know that you planned to wait for the car? If not, my dealer "assumes" that you are going to drop it off in the morning and pick it up when they call or before they close. If you let them know that you will be waiting for the car they will be sure to schedule you up front. They normally stagger appointments so everyone will not be sitting in line waiting when they open the doors in the morning.
I told them that I was waiting, I guess that's why it only took 2 hours Anyone have a dealer recommendation in North Orange County, ca
Appointments at a dealer do not work the same way as appointments as a doctor's office - there is no one waiting to see you. The appointment simply allows the dealer to control the incoming traffic of cars, and gives your car a place in line.
