Never tried Cooper tires before, but I have seen a TV commercial with Arnold Palmer endorsing the product. Came across this review: Cooper - Snow Tires Reviews - Viewpoints Try searchng on google for more. Good luck.
We have an Alton Tires here in town and my wife kinda knows the owner so he's going to give us a buy 3 get 1 free deal on them. Hopefully they're good and what I've read on the news feeds about it, they sound good. I haven't been able to find any reviews on them but with winter coming up and our gas mileage dropping like a lead balloon due to having to have the heater running all the time, it might be nice to see how they affect it.
Well we went out and bought the tires and after several months of owning them the first thing that I noticed is the traction that they get. It's amazing to say the least. We really haven't had much of a snowy winter this year which is very unfortunate but it has been icy and wet and never any real issues. At first I thought I was also getting about 3 mpg more but it has been really cold and so I can't tell if the drop has been due to running the heater at higher temperatures for longer and higher fan speeds or not. Overall mpg though with this long cold spell has been about the same with the previous tires that we had, the stock Goodyears. Anyway, hopefully that helps anyone who was wondering about them. We did end up getting the buy 3 get 1 free deal so it was totally worth it!
No help here, but I had a set of the Cooper GFE's put on this morning. The Integrity(s) had 34,000+ on them and were showing wear finally. I need to do my daily drive to see how they are handling and wait for warmer weather to see how my mileage is affected. This winter I've had some of my lowest mileage, around 44-46, for a couple of months. Last year was so much milder, I only had two tanks reading in that range. I had these put on at a local auto center where they did my inspection too.
How much did you pay, because Tire Rack has some OEM Michelin Pilot XH MXM4 in our size on special. I think they are about $110 each marked down a lot and there is a $70 rebate if you buy 4. I looked for the 17 inch size because I have a V model, but maybe they have other sizes.
I know this is a dead thread but I have Cooper GFE on my 2007 Prius and I am about to order some new ones either the same or if they have a newer better version I will get that. Repeat purchase is a great vouch. They are very good in the rain, making the Prius much nicer. They are sporty and help the car and I have more fun.
I worked for Cooper Tire for about 8 years. I always loved their tires but haven't had them on a car since they cut our employee discount.
