Has anyone done this? I am wondering if the dark tone of the magnetic gray color would make the blacked out bumper a fruitless task? I like the look on the lighter colored C's...but on a Magnetic Gray, I do not know.... Anyone have pictures? I couldn't find any.
There is a thread on here where a car from... I want to say West Virginia... but that doesn't seem right had his blacked out. It looks really good, but I can't find it right now. I've spent like 10 minutes searching through my past posts... geez I talk a lot. Is there a way to search members?
I did this on my Magnetic Gray c - first with Plasti Dip and then with a vinyl wrap. I had the same concerns about whether it would be worth it on such a dark car, but I’m glad I did it and would say that at least for me, it completely changes the car’s personality. I really didn't like how the color matched bumper looked before the black-out. That said, the before/after difference probably isn't that noticeable to most people. I don't have any good pictures of it now, but my avatar is a Photoshopped version of my car and the front of it is a fair representation of what the blacked out bumper looks like, although slightly less pronounced in real life and more matte. I'll put up a real pic sometime soon.
Here's a photo of my car with the front bumper wrapped in black matte vinyl, if you're still interested. Good luck with the bumper!
I did the same thing last week with my 2012 Prius Plug In, after I lowered the license plate. I used wide black vinyl tape just to see how it looked. Kept it on for several days, decided I liked the factory look better, so I'm back to original (top photo).
