7th gen Celica 16" GTS wheel

Sorry if this has been asked. Did a quick search and nothing came up.

It's for her car so ride comfort is a priority, thus only going with 16". Looking to pick these up and wanted to check and see if its there's any known clearance problem. Not really looking to lower the car as to keep it parking block friendly. Has anyone ever run these on GenIII?



Spec is 16x6.5 +39 offset weighting in at 19lbs according to the interweb. Currently wearing 205/55 16.

 

WilMent - That's the size I was told. Pic lack detail so I'll have to wait 'til Tuesday to see the size and what make & model the tires are. Chances are that its not LRR so I'll just have to up the inflation pressure to compensate.

Always see wheels from tC, Prius V, CT 200h, and so on but not GTS 16". Only found one Gen III in Blizzard with GTS 16 wheels and its not from this forum. Due to it not being popular, it made me question the fitment. Thanks for putting that notion to rest.

After its all clean up and inflated to 40 psi, the GTS wheel with tires (90%) weight in at 40 lbs while stock wheel with hub caps and 40k miles old stock Yokohama weight in at 34 lbs. Bathroom scale was the only thing available to me, not the most accurate....but mainly looking for the difference so it serve its purpose.

The tires on there is Definity HX700 in 205/50 16, one size too short in aspect ratio. It's a cheap non-LRR tires but it have 90% life left. Might just run it and get proper tires once that wear out...depend on how it perform in the next week or so.

Not too shabby for factory 16", skinny spokes give it a light & sporty look. Also compliment the Blue Ribbon nicely imho.
What does everyone think?

 

Naturally, MPG lost is to be expected. Thus going with 16" to minimize the hit and try to retain most of ride comfort. She sees about 50-50 highway and surface street. Don't really see rush hour traffic, mostly steady cruising in the right lane. Currently getting about 53 MPG calculated. Will be monitoring the next tank or so and share any findings.

 

Thanks for the kind word everyone. Would've gone with 17" but since it's her car, I had to find a good compromise. A drop, probably Performance Plus spring, will come after tint and sway bar. Kinda like not having to worry about scraping up driveway and parking block scratching front bumper.
