Plasti-dipped the rims, already has tints, and rain guards. The hood looks like it is oxidizing though so I'll have to look into it this summer.
Welcome to priuschat! is that tint legal? That looks so dark! I think it looks good, but I know it wouldn't be but 5 minutes, and I'd get pulled over... Maybe that's just my luck with cops, always there when I don't need them, never around when I do...
I'm sure it is not legal, no tints on the front windows in Michigan are legal I believe. In my city I haven't heard of anyone getting pulled over just for tints.
That's lucky, in Georgia, at least in Liberty county ( Ft. Stewart Area) the sheriff will pull you over give you a ticket, and then offer a scraper to remove the illegal tint on the spot and allow you to drive away, or if you don’t remove it on the spot they’ll call a tow truck to remove the "unsafe" ~(BS!)~ vehicle from the roadway. (Yeah, the Georgia State Patrol, and Liberty county cops don't play around!). Maryland, they just give you a fix-it ticket, you have to have it removed within 30 days and take it to an inspection station to verify that the tint was removed. Sometimes they care and will pull you over, sometimes they don’t care and will let you keep driving. It all depends if the officer feels like it that day… Not sure about PA, I've know they don't play around with speeders, but not sure how much they care about tint... I think it looks good though! It will surely keep you from having to get into a hot car during the summer.
The Ten Worst Traffic Cops In The U.S. Matt Lassiter In the late 60s Liberty County, GA was so renowned for its speed traps that the governor of the state, the honorable Lester Maddox, had billboards erected at eachend of the county on state highway that read "WARNING: You are now entering Liberty County. Beware speed traps. Signed, the Honorable Lester Maddox". It's been said that Liberty County was the inspiration for Hazzard County in the Dukes of Hazzard. Before it looked murdered out... now it looks very clean. Nice! Good luck with the dark tint... looks good but might cause ticket happy, doughnut grubbing, low on quota officers to drool..
Looks great, our 2005 still has many mods in the pipeline (mainly some quality spring to get an inch lower).
I would love to lower mine, but I already scrape if I don't turn it backing out of a driveway. My girlfriends doesn't however. Do you think there is a reason for this? Also mine makes a water sound when it goes into drive / engine turns on and hers doesn't. Hers is a 2004.
For the scraping sound, take a good look under both. There are a lot of little plastic undercarriage covering and sometimes some may hang lower when they lose a fastener or two. Mine did in the back, got a few from the Hillman drawer at Ace Hardware and viola!
