Are the "fenders" black strips of body moulding that your dealer offers as an add-on? And they put them on the bumpers, too?

You've had a long wait. Have some hot chocolate and listen to some classical music. Unless you're in a cubicle at work. :p

Hi Jack, sitting here listening to Mozart with my cup of hot chocolate... ;)

The "fenders" are put on by the dealer, and is made of some kind of rubber. You can have them in black (as I chose) or in the color of your car. It is your choice to have them mounted on the side doors and/or the bumbers.

I will post some pics of these fenders later!

I'm very happy for all of you that have gotten your cars.

I'd like to note what can go wrong when sales people and inventory managers don't care about their customers.

After putting a $500 deposit down and waiting two months, the inventory manager at Precision Toyota of Tucson called to give me the delivery update, and the requested VIN number. I confirmed with him the #6 package, the color, Silver Pine Mica and the interior color, Bisque per the contract. “Oh noâ€, he said, “it's Silverâ€, he said, “with the Dark Gray interiorâ€, he said. “You must be kidding meâ€, I said. “No you have a Classic Silver Metallic arriving the first week in Februaryâ€.

The salesman finally called back to say, I’m sorry but there was a mix-up and all they could do would be to place another order which would mean a 4 to 6 week delay.

It’s absolutely amazing to me that the, soon to be, number one car company in the good old USA cannot get brochures, color codes, or timely information to their dealers to avoid these kinds of amateur errors.

When I read about the problems other people have had with dealerships and their sales people it seems that Toyota is headed for the same kind of fate as the other big 'Fat Cat' car companies. Take the money and run and to hell with the customer. ‘We’re making so much money we don’t need to care’.

    Thanks for letting me vent!

The gunmetal rims is how ALL European rims look like with the plastic cover removed.

Send some more pics when they've finished putting it together. Make sure they put all the underside spoilers on properly (there's a new front spoiler apparently), and the locking wheel nuts (or are they UK only?).

I still think the chrome brake lights are a styling mistake, but I suppose it fixes the "melting fins" problem.

True Tideland, I just didn't realize this at first... Looks better without the covers though - just need to find a matching center cup somewhere... :)

KMO, here are some more pics - taken today. Still waiting for the side and bumber protection to be mounted though, this will happen on Thursday next week.

You need to decrease the size of your pictures. Each one is a 3.6 MB BMP file. That's HUGE - OBSCENELY HUGE :(

They should at most be in the 100-150K range for that size picture. Try saving them as jpg files, and if necessary decreasing the color saturation.

I downloaded your most recent one - 3.66 MB - just loaded it into MS Paint and saved it as a jpg file, no other changes, and it went down to 195K.

Thanks for the tip Tempus - but then I guess I will have to go over ALL my old pics in different posts and either delete the pics or "downsize" them to a lesser size/quality...

    Guess that's life :(

Thank you for your nice pictures. I have the same vehicle here in Minnesota USA / Minneapolis, St/Paul Minnesota.

Had mine about 4 days and really like it. Thought of sports cars , but no.
This is a vehicle for our time. It is really smooth running. I also like the blue color. I wish you the best with this vehicle. Sadly, no makes a car that is comparable. I wish more auto makers would make a vehicle like this.

But, this is not our problem. Now, !!! is the time to enjoy our car.......

beautiful norway, I can only imagine.

    take care friend.

    Gary in USA :)

    Thanks!!!

I am very happy with the car so far - even driving in snow has been great!

A name for your car? I have to think about that one.
