^^^ I apologize on advance for my stupidity, but what is that chart showing us? I understand the numbers and calculation but what is the chart trying to say?
When the last PIP starts to blink: Risk averse; Look for your favorite gas station. Risk taker; Look at the tank mileage, add 50, and get gas before you get to that number. Risk ambivalent; Post your favorite tow truck operator's mobile number on you dash!
Oh I didn't realize what a "pip" is, I thought it was short for "Plug in Prius". I guess it is the hash marks on the fuel gauge? Putting 10 was smart of Toyota since 10 gallons is the most regular people would ever add to the tank...I hadn't connected those dots before. My Corvette has one gallon hash marks on the gas gauge as well. Thanks for the chart and info! Btw how did you get that information?
2010 Repair Manual - Fuel Receiver Gauge Malfunction Info originally in liters, I converted to gallons.
It has both meanings, depending on context. We were using it for the fuel gauge marks long before the Plug-In-Prius existed.
Toyota refers to the plug-in model as PHV. That makes sense, since Plug-in Hybrid Vehicle is a reference which could easily be used as a standard across the fleet.
