GenIII Prius Custom PIDs for Torque app

First of all... great job! I've just connected Torque Pro on Nexus 7 (Android 4.2.2) with ELM327 BT clone (cheap variant, about 12-14 EUR). It is working fine after double BT pairing (one before running Torque, second after Torque tries to connect).

I found one mistake in PIDs 12nov12 on Google Docs:

Engine Coolant Temperature_7E2Coolant_7E22101F - 40-40120C7E2

This one on my Prius reports not temp but something like requested load or something. When I press accelerator pedal down this value goes up, when I release it goes down.
When engine is off this value reads 0.
When engine is working (like heating cabin, car stop on P) this value is positive non zero.

S0: Heating cat.


IG-ON, just paired Torque, NOT READY state.


Outside temperature around 1 deg Celsius like Aux Bt. The car was off for about 6 hours.

MG2 Torque min/max values seems totally out of bound. I've changed them manually to -400 ~ +400. I need to do some processing on this.

Prius 2011 EU.

 

Is it possible during customization to change font size?

 

I noticed on the Prius v that you can turn the volume of the beep that sounds when you lock the car down. Is there a setting we can change on the Prius to turn it down (but maybe not turn it off completely)?

 

I have a Nexus 7 with torque pro. I downloaded the custom Pid file and installed it in torque. I went to the manage extra pid setting and everything shows up. So then I added the predefined set to Gen.III vehicle/model. But when I go into the real time screen to add the pid none of them show up. Do I need to be connected to the obdII scan tool first? Or did I miss something in the setup?

Edit - I figured out the PID issue. Now I need to figure out how to add the seat belt and reverse PID to torque.

i´am from the near of Dortmund in Germany, and a brandnew user of a Prius wagon (7 seats) (called here in Germany Prius+)
I play with the PID´s and i wondered, what is possible to do with this things, so i have 2 questions.

1. Have you on your cars in the USA a automaticly close of your car, after you leaving it, without anythink you do?
Or get you any beep sounds that the car is closed? ( here in germany only the turning lights flashing one time, that´s it)
And when you got this function, is it possible to activate or deactivate these function over a PID code?
When i understand the german manual right, it is possible by the dealer, but he told me: no way to change.

2. Have you a PID code for change the lower limit of the automatic speed control from 25 miles/h (~40 Km/h) down to 19 miles/h (~30 Km/h)?
The statement of TOYOTA Germany was, it maybe possible, but not released by TOYOTA Japan.

I assume that Prius+ and Prius manuals are similar in construction. So there is a section about "Customised settings". It lists some stuff like "how long internal light will be one after closing doors", "volume of the external buzzer", "reverse beep" and stuff like that. If a thing you want to change is on that list you can change it by PID or your dealer can do it using Techstream.

But... US and EU cars spec are quite different. US users for example can have automatic lock when they switch to "D" or when pass 20 km/h speed limit. No way to do it in EU spec version. PID is missing in ECU and nothing can be done to change it.

So... you can change this function by PID but someone with EU spec car have to discover it first (or read from a service manual). Maybe try to call another dealer?

 

I could not figure out how to extract the csv file to the extended pids so I downloaded it and copy-pasted it on the phone via usb. Looking forward to disabling the reverse beep.

 

The Prius V (not 5) is available in Europe with a third row seat like a Mazda5.

 

I just got Torque working and have set up a bunch of PIDs. Great kudos to Ian Hawkins & usbseawolf. Have a question as to whether power to the OBD adapter turns off with the power button and does it come from the small 12volt battery or from the main battery? I joined the Prius family 8 months ago and have posted how to add a backup cam to a 2012 P'two in Gen III audio forum.

I've had my batteries drain in 3 days after leaving it plugged in overnight. Certainly not a good to keep it plugged in for too long.

 

Ya, I have a cheap bluetooth adapter and it can drain a battery pretty quick.

 

Thanks for the info about standby power. I have a Vgate (white) adapter, working with Nexus 7, Android 4.2.1. It was available with and without a power on/off button. It's worth the extra $ to get the button version to save the wear on the connector which is only tin plated and not designed for a lot of plugging on and off. I got the one with the button but do not always remember to push it off. So I activated the reminder screen in Torque to pop up when exiting Torque. As I did a bunch of testing to get everything working, I'll share in the next paragraph how I got it working:

Started off with a 2 year old Sanei N-10 Android 4.0.3 and a black orange/blue label BT OBD adapter. Never could get it to connect. Then got a USB version of the orange/blue label adapter. It would not connect with the Sanei but would connect with a Windows Laptop. But there is no Windows version of Torque. Checked into upgrading Android on the Sanei but the websites looked like I would wind up with Chinese version of Android. The examples that popped up had Chinese characters all over. So rather than chancing getting an unusable Sanei, I left it alone. Thinking it might be the OBD adapter, I got the Vgate with button. Still no connection. So I bit the bullet and got the Nexus 7 which connects to either of the BT adapters. Seems to connect to the Vgate faster and seems to be more robust. Have tried the USB adapter and not been successful with the Nexus. It has a micro USB port that supposedly is OTG but the Nexus appears to only work as a slave device, not as master to the adapter.

Kudos to all involved with the Torque implementation project. I have mentioned Ian and usbseawolf. There must be many others.

Hello everyone...new here. Not new to the torque app though.

So I downloaded the CSV file...or so I thought....and all of the options are not showing like the ones mentioned. I added the custom pid but only a list of 12 PID's were added?

Where did I go wrong?

Sorry..a little more info. We just purchased a 2013 Persona Black Cherry. Trying to turn off the beeps.
