Engine kill alarm or lock

    With the 2012 Prius v base model, is there some sort of engine kill switch, alarm, or any anti theft devices on the vehicle standard?

    Yes. It's officially called a the "Immobilizer System". The US (North America version?) manual says on page 116:

    You will see car+lock symbol flash on the right side of the center display.
