Wifes 2012 Prius V got a cracked windshield with no obvious rock or other damage. It started on the top where the glass meets the roof and grew quickly. Looks like a stress crack, you can run a pen down the crack and there is no obvious hang up where something hit the windshield. I'll have Toyota check it out later this week, but checking for statistics if others have suspect cracks or not.
My 2012 Prius v developed the same type of crack. It also started on the top where the glass meets the roof and grew quickly. The car was bought in July and it is November now. Did you bring your car back to Toyota? If so what did they say.
My 2012 Prius V also developed a crack from the bottom passenger side up toward the center for no reason. I already have 31k miles, will Toyota replaces mine for free? Should I call the dealer where I bought the car or should I call Toyota?
Same as yours - crack started at top of windshield and quickly ran across glass. Crack is really large and looks like a stess crack. May file with NTNSB site.
Any more developments on this? My Prius V just manifested a crack from the bottom drivers corner of the glass where the glass begins. It is a 24" crack.
We gave 2 2012 v. The v3 did this in the first week we had it under 1k mi. No sign yet with the v5 with 10k. Insurance fixed ours. We thought it might have been a temperature shock thing. W
