Just want to make a quick introduction post as I had purchased a new 2012 Prius 4 last Saturday. I feel it was a great purchase for me as I liked the leather interior the 4 provided as it provides a much richer experience inside the cabin. My previous car was an '07 Lexus ES350, so I wanted to keep some creature comforts. I have a 110 mile round-trip commute, and so far I have seen mostly low 50's indicated on the trip computer (I know it's a bit optimistic), with a few in the 57 range. My travel is mostly on route 80 in NJ, and though I can leave a bit later, I do see stop and go traffic, so that keeps my average speed down. Anyway, I had been monitoring this site for close to a year or so, and with a job/commute change, the Prius made the most sense. I look forward to being an active member of the community!
I too have a 2012 Prius 4 purchased in November last year for my 126 mile daily commute. Absolutely the smartest move I have made in the transportation department -- ever.
Ouch on yours and phickson's commute. One of the best things I love about my Prius is that my city and highway mpg's are averaging out to the high 40's and low 50's. Try that in a non-hybrid!
