I'm excited to own this car, but I'm slightly scared after reading this forum! What are the best tips for a new C driver? I drive 25 miles each way to work, in city/suburban conditions. I live near Chicago. What are the best tips to maximize miles? Thanks everyone! Amy
welcome! nothing to be scared of, drive it like any car, you'll get good mileage. in the mean time, search here for hypermiling techniques and when you have put some time behind the wheel and feel comfortable, start implementing them one at a time and watch your mpg's increase. all the best!
Unlike most cars, this one will teach you how it wants to be driven. Just browse through the multi-information display screens and enjoy.
Entecha is right. As you attempt to increase your mpg, this car through its information dash, helps you to learn to drive better, to be more courteous, and to drive safer. Even if you decide to drive like most of the other people out there it will still get good mileage.
I found that a lot of my initial questions were answered by reading the owner's manual. Took a few hours over the weekend but it is important just to know the basics of your car.
It's nice to hear that people actually still read the owners manual. So much good info can be found in there...
A bit more than 24 hours in, and I'm loving it! I "scored" 65.9 mpg on the way home today! I'm in the process of reading the manual. Thanks for all of your comments!
I'm now about 1300 miles in, and it is still remarkable. My 11 year old asks me every day what my fuel efficiency was for the day! Good stuff!
