Well, I've had my White #9 Prius for a little over a week now and have received numerous comments and observations from friends and family. Here's my top ten list. 10. Can you drive it on the highway, will it keep up with traffic 9. Where do you plug it in 8. How long does it take to recharge at night 7. It's bigger inside than I would have thought 6. I looks like an egg, where's the yoke 5. That's the shifter!!! 4. What do you mean you don't need a key 3. Is that one of those Hydrids 2. What's a hybrid and the number one comment - 1. So, does this make you an official tree hugger
My #1 before a demo drive is "Are you hitting the [fuel economy] numbers?". My #1 after a demo drive is "I can't believe they did it for the price!".
Those last two pretty well describe the reactions of the eight cow-orkers I've treated. For some reason the mechanical engineers seem most excited by it.
One comment I got was "Oh my god, your card just stalled..." I then continued driving to their amazement
--------------------- "It's not fair." (my father for a few months before he decided to buy his own) --------------------- "HOLY SH**!" (a good friend of mine who I had not warned beforehand, when the screen turned on) --------------------- "Someday I will have this car." (My Honda loving housemate who had told me to get an Insight, after 5 minutes in the car.) ---------------------
Those are funny!!! I usually get Is that a Hybrid??? How long can you go without charging the battery!! I think that they are just so funny when they ask me those! It makes me laugh though! LOL.
Since I don't have my car yet...... The number one thing I hear at least twice a week is "Have you heard any thing about your car yet?"or "I can't believe you're waiting THAT long to get a new car you've only tried out once".
i don't have mine yet and my number one comment is "would you please shut up about that car, you're driving us nuts"
I heard "It doesn't go over 70 mph, is it safe on the highway?". When I told him it would go over 100 mph, he still seemed to think that wasn't fast enough. Then I asked him how often he drove over 100 mph. He was driving a classic MG TD. He wasn't actually driving it, he was pushing it home because it had broken down 100 feet from his driveway.
 :jester:  :jester:  And the response back to them "The yoke's on you!"        :computer:
That is the greated, and best, one I have heard, I did the same to my friends. It is too true!!! LOL.
Or, a friend of mine who knows I have been waiting forever (5 months)- "So, Larry, Have you had to change the oil on your Prius yet?" I'm about ready to "dot his eye".
LOL.. my wife said the same thing when I kept talking about the car last summer/fall before us Pioneer buyers got it. From June/July on through November of '03, it was Prius this and Prius that. I think what miffed her even more though was all the time I spent in the Y! 2004-prius group back when it was actually useful... LOL. I was a top contendor for posting good info at the time, but there was a price. :-/
