[IMG][IMG] [IMG][IMG] here a photo of a leaking condenser but this one there is no visible leak to the eye only to the electronic leak detector. It had five or more leaks on the face of the condenser. The oil you do see is from the latch to the hood above when someone sprays lubricant on it and it drips down. The other photo is of the gauge reading on a cool day in the mid 60's low humidity with a new Toyota DENSO condenser.

here is the cabin air filter from this car. This car as I was told was in So Cal where some looked at it and tried to recharged the A/C, I could see were someone added UV tracer dye to the a/c system and when I check the cabin air filter this is what I found. Any shop or one that repairs a/c will check or ask the customer if they have replaced the filter this to can cause a restriction, air flow reducing can cause reduced cooling and the TEMP sensor and pressure sensor do not know that the cabin air filter has a restriction. Even if the refrigerant level is 100% full the computer in the car is stupid, it was never programmed to work for lack of maintenance or many other things a repair shop may do, like over or under charging the refrigerant because they are using a older a/c recharging equipment only a few years old not up to the new standards of the SAE or the EPA and neither is the training of the old TECHs relying on their years of old time experience. Some body should have seen this before they started work!. :(

All they had to do was charge the system. At first, the guy called me saying that they couldn't figure it out, asked if it was in a wreck before (yes), etc. Yesterday morning he called saying that they worked on it late Saturday, got it to charge, looked at it yesterday morning, was still working, and so now it works!

Cool so they put a new condenser in when it was wrecked and never charged it. Your tech couldn't find the leak at first and was stymied. Where'd it go???

Btw, pay attention to lech's post above. Keep a clean cabin filter in the car. There cheap and easy to service. Its behind the lower glove compartment door. Have to take the door off to get to it. Instructions on how to do it in o manual.

    Your a lucky girl. Enjoy!

As a a/c tech we hate it when a body shop installs a new condenser and dose not recharge the a/c system and dose not tell or forgot. If the customer dose not know until the next hot days coming after winter.
I waist a lot of time looking for a leak that is not there (n). Glad this was a easy one at no extra cost to you.
This is much better then what I fine most of the time after a body shop recharges a customers a/c system. (y)
