It's not "more advanced regenerative braking" It's engine braking, for going down steep hills. It keeps the ICE on for that reason. Thank you, that is all.
It seems that B works just like the current POTUS. It parasitizes kinetic energy, reducing velocity, by pumping hot air through an, otherwise, efficent system, reducing momentum. Perhaps another analogy for both systems is the anchor on a boat.
Road test editor are very confused. Almost nothing in the first paragraph on this page is true. Green Machine The gearing does not change, regen does not start sooner, it does not get better gas mileage, you still use the brakes to stop, etc,
I noticed a few members mention shifting into B for "more advanced regenerative braking" but decided not to call anyone out and instead post this passive aggressive thread I also noticed this being mentioned in about 50% of Prius videos on YouTube.
I use it when I'm speeding so if I need to slow due to a cop i get the added engine braking. I also use it during spirited driving on winding roads and autocross for the braking effect as well as quicker engine response when getting back on throttle. SPH-D710 ? 2
