I could not be more pleased with the sound of my complete system as well as the sound of the sub. I had the sub enclosure made by "Mobile Fantasy" in Northridge CA for $250! (Quite a bargain as far as I'm concerned) w/o driver. If you are in the area, and interested in a removable enclosure like this one, they are the people to talk to! (I'm not affiliated with them in any way, just a satisfied customer) I spoke with "Tim" on the forum, the really helpful gentleman that also makes sub enclosures for the same price, but he opts for the right cubby hole. I decided on the left because I'll never need to go in there, but I might need to access the battery. I installed the rest of the system myself. Details on that here: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...-installing-5-channel-amp-jbl-nav-system.html
Agree, that looks very nice. I'd want a grill over that sub though. Wouldn't want to poke something through the driver.
The enclosure looks great. What driver did you put in it? What kind of amp are you using and where did you mount it?
I put a 8" JL Audio Driver and a 5 Channel JL XD700/5 amp D class 700w. I couldn't be happier with the sound.
Nice set up. What would that cost me if I had a shop install (incl the $250 enclosure)? I can't stand the jbl greenedge...
I installed it myself, bought the amp and speakers etc from the web. All together parts were 12-1400 ( I believe) I'm not sure what a shop would charge, but whatever it is 3-500, is WORTH it! Make sure once they're done all of your bluetooth phone functions etc are all working!
I'd suggest going to the Toyota service website subscribe for a day, and download all the pertinent pdf's that are for your car. (sorry I don't remember the url) I actually tapped into the JBL amp under the passenger seat. I got the signal and used that for the input on my amp that has a built in crossover.
