Does anyone have any feedback on the performance of their replacement shocks and struts? Search turned up lots of people installing Toyota, KYB and Monroe, but not usually any feedback on how they ride/run on the car. Pricing is very close on all of them, so looking for opinions. I have several leakers, so need to replace soon. thanks
The KYB struts are the same as the ones that came with the Prius. One difference - a lifetime guaranty. I have them on my 2004 Prius since 150k miles - now at 237k miles. JeffD
I put Monroe struts on my 2006 100,000 miles ago, and they are doing fine. I did not notice any ride difference after I installed them, the old ones were leaking. I am not sure what the warranty is on them.
update: went for the Monroe OESpectrum struts as I am looking for a smooth, cushy ride and there is currently a $90 rebate for 4 struts. Install was easy but live and learn, I ordered the universal strut boots when I could have sourced the much superior genuine Toyota bellows for only a few dollars more. 2 of my 4 original struts were leaking at 129K, the front so much it was causing a drip on the ground. Both front strut bellows were shredded too.
nice smooth ride Monroe has a rebate all of April http://www.monroe.com/assets/downloads/promotions/Monroe_Change_Pays_Rebate_US_WEB.pdf I used Rock Auto, seems to work for me.
