What fits in PiP cargo?

Yeah this was diagonally. The tail end of the ski was shoved into that concave area and the ski tip was resting on the top of the rear seat behind the headrest. I had to flip down the read headrest to get it in there, but was able to fully restore it to the normal position afterwards (so rear passenger safety was not compromised).
Obviously with this setup the tonneau cover could not be used. Yet another incentive for me to finally get my rear window tinted.

 

She fits..... and the headrests provide a barrier to keep her there, (She could get through on my 2006 GenII). She's not real happy about it; she wants to be co-pilot!

 

No pictures but I transported a regular sized coffin ( with out the cold habitant) as a generosity service for a friend's in need.

 

Our flat screen TV went out just one month out of warranty. So my wife and I went to Costco and bought
a 55 inch smart tv with 3 D and all the bells and whistles along with a 5 year warranty.

We placed the back seats down and it fit in the back cargo area perfectly. We can even put our son's surf
board in the back and it fit.

People ask me how much money do you save on gas with your Prius. I always tell them nothing, because
we drive twice as much because we get twice, well even more, than my wife's old Chevy Malibu that
we traded in for the Prius.

So far the Prius is one of the most trouble free cars that I have had in my 45 plus years of driving. Its
right up there with my 94 Civic VX, 85 Jetta Turbo Diesel, and 77 VW Rabbit Diesel. Our other
car is a 2003 Jetta TDI Wagon 5-speed manual, and its still going strong at 137,000 miles......

All of that is out of context

 

I can tell you that the following items fit in the prius as cargo.

1. 96" Long 4x4s
2. a sheet of plywood broken down in 65x24 with a 17x24 section
3. 2 whippets (they will fit with the seats up but they sometimes bray)
4. An entire bike (both my city bike and my nice road bike fit in the car with the wheels on). But normally we use a rack.

The following does not fit.
1. A sheet of plywood that has an edge of 46". So a 46x48 square piece of plywood will not fit. I had to do the tie it to the roof rack griswald style to get it home.

Spare doughnut tire, 2 Suitcases, EVSE + extension, backpack, inverter, spare battery, set of socket wrenches, electric jack, multi- meter and other small miscellaneous stuff. Back seats upright and clear for passengers.

Some of you already know this, but I run a delivery/hauling service and many times use my PiP. I have hauled 8 and a half foot carpet rolls along with boxes of every size and dimension you can think of. I cease to be amazed by how much it holds. My customers are similarly impressed. Many times upon delivery they ask if this is the vehicle I use for many of the deliveries.

 

You're qualified for the carpool lane!

 

How about... All the lumber to make three 4'x8' raised bed garden boxes? Well, OK, it took 2 trips but that was because the third one was built later....



I also have had a load of 6 40lb bags of "MooPoo" cow manure to fertilize the boxes, and a couple other loads of stone blocks to make another raised bed in my front yard (about 500lbs. worth). I have also transported an entire Pro Sound System used for DJing at my 50 Class Reunion that consisted of 2 15" Yamaha Speakers, a 2500w Crown Amp, two speaker stands, computer and a 1 gig hard drive with 8000 tunes to play on it, all the wiring, and the wireless mic units. That was a load!
