Are there any issues pretaining to putting our Prius C through a car wash? My main concern is water ingress to the batteries. Some car washes have an option to wash the wheel wells and underside of the car. We would like to try a "touch-less" car wash. tia
Nope I've been through one where it sprays the underneath. I always use touch-less. Never have a problem. But I try to do it by hand when I can.
The only car wash issue I know of involving a C2 was leakage. My mother-in-law's car got soaked on the inside the first time she took it through an automatic wash. She swears all the windows were up and thinks it's a door seal issue. She hasn't run it through another wash yet so we don't know for certain what caused the problem.
As I posted before on another similar thread I've never used machine wash stations on my car. I'm using coupon in junk mail for 100% hand wash: $9.99 silver wash (similar or better to the most expensive machine wash) or $11.99 gold wash.
Use the tunnel wash at my local shell service station regularly. No issues apart from the thump sound of the blower when it hits the roof antenna
I always worry the air blower is going to whip the little front wiper away while it's drying, but it never does. No problems here.
Batteries are sealed under the rear seat and not exposed from below. I takeover thru once a week and it sprays the undercarriage. No issues at all with leaking
just the other day, I used a sprinkler under the c to wash off road salt and dirt.........no problem...... I would stay away from high pressure washers
You have to be careful of auto-carwashes. I was using one for a while when apparently the owner changed out the blowers at the end to much more powerful ones. I loved how the car would come out the other end practically dry, BUT I found that it would blow out one or both tow-hook covers on my front bumpers. The first time it happened I thought it was a fluke, but after the second time I never went back. Fortunately after I complained, the owner found the tow hook covers, rather begrudgingly at that - another reason not to return!
