Ok, I bought a 2001 Toyota prius in October 2012, which is my first car. A couple months ago my left tires began wearing out, and i was told i needed an alignment when I went to change it. When I went to get an alignment somewhere, I also told the mechanic that every time I turned, my steering wheel would shake really badly. After test driving it, he told me that the car was making a loud noise, which I also did notice. He then told me I needed to replace my structs because they were bad. I went to AutoZone to get the parts because they were cheaper than the price he was giving me. So I went back with my part to replace. He then told me my right tire was separated and that I needed to replace it. Me being super stressed out and having no clue about cars, I let him change it for the cost of $80 something. My brother later told me the guy took advantage of me being a young female that barely knows anything about cars (im planning on going back to him and get things straightened out). Then My oil and engine indicators came on, so I went to Tire Plus and had my oil change. They then gave me a list of the things they recommended for me to DO 1.Belts...$162 2.Bearings & seals...$567.20 (guy told me if I dont get this fixed, my stearing wheel will lock or something) 3.Clean & adjust rear drums brakes...39.99 TOTAL: $835.99 So idk what to do, I am a college freshman and I don't really have the money for all of this. Is there places I can get the parts cheaper?? Any ideas or advice?? Help!
