See what you've done, now I want to swap my Tanabe for a Cusco STB!

 

haha, plus the main thing, is the easy access to the fuse box cover, easy removal and put back.

I had my fuse box cover off for almost 6 months, as I was able to squeeze the cover out with the tanabe strut bar on, but impossible to put it back on.

Now it's easy peasy

 

Yeah, I honestly hate that I don't have access to the fuse box with the Tanabe bar. I had a fuse go out one time and it was a PITA. I had the RHD version of the Cusco bar when I first purchased the Prius but didn't like how it interferred with the brake reserve. Basically settled for the Tanabe bar since it seemed the lesser of two evils... but now that Cusco has made a LHD version of the bar...hm...

 

Pp doesn't work unless her foot is on the brake

 

Which coilovers did you end up getting? How are they compared to just lowering springs?

I'm still looking at getting the Tanabe S-0Cs but thinking about just sticking with the springs.

 

Here is mine, but I'm in UK, so RHD with Cusco brace.

I went with the Tanabe Z-40's, the handling is superb , the ride is slightly bumpier than the TRD springs, but bearable, I still have to adjust the damping system, gonna try it on full soft. I got a lot of weird sounds with the lowering springs, but once I changed to coilovers, everything was fine

 

Let me know how they ride with full soft. I really do want some coilovers with some pretty soft comfy settings is the dampening in the rear adjustable?

 

Retroing CT200 seats into the Prius?!? Interesting!

 

Finally got some work done on my car despite the winter! added Led side mirrors, plasti-dipped my badges whil color coordinating the Toyota background...extra paint available when painting mirror covers. Also added new black front grill from Grill Craft. Also added vinyl covering on taillights.

 

Your car looks great! How did you do the red stripe on your wheel? It has a nice finishing touch.

 

Pretty simple.... And lasts. I had that put on for almost a year. It red trim (plastic) edgemoulding with a 3M double sided automotive tape. It is available in most automotive parts places. Think it was less than 8 bucks.

 

While we wait for the wiring report, how about a little more detail about the original install. Was it a straight unbolt one, bolt the other one in,, or was there a lot of retrofitting involved? Is the seat position and height about the same? Because of the different cockpit setups of the 2 cars, I was slightly surprised it worked as well and easily as it seems to from your pictures. And are they really as good as one would expect (from test driving the CT), in terms of long drives, being softer, etc.

 

I had a chance to ride in Sean's Prius with the CT seats...and boy those seats feel 10x better and more snug on the body than the ordinary Prius seats. It looks better too! I'm jealous and envious! Great job on retrofitting those seats into your Prius.
