Hello all, This is a GREAT site!!! I found a used 2011 Prius 3 for $20,900. It's not certified, however, checking the service history through the Toyota Care site it has had all routine maintenance completed through the selling Toyota dealership (including the plugging of the left front tire). It has about 44k miles and after reading many posts here it seems like this vehicle will run forever without any issues. It has NAV, back up camera, and even a solar roof (give it up for being "extra" green), and a few other bells and whistles. I was going to purchase a 2013, however, for this price I can't pass it up. I was going to offer $18,500 for the vehicle and skip on the extended warranty as it's not needed. Would you all consider the original asking price fair? Additionally, I would change the tires immediately upon receipt with Goodyear AT that are rated pretty high on Consumer Reports. However, I am open to other tire suggestions that will give me superb handling knowing that I will take a small hit on my MPG. I have a SAMs club nearby, and a Costco about an hour and a half away. Thanks for reading and I look forward to all opinions and suggestions. Army
I also doubt they will take much lower than asking. You can certainly try, but its got many extras. If you can strike an at cost for the extended warranty, that would be a plus. Never know how it was treated in those 44K. Good luck!
Got the dealership to agree to $19,800 with Prius Rubber mats for front, back, and cargo area. I checked the Toyota Care website, and the vehicle has been serviced every 5k miles at the dealership so clean bill of health.
Just checked KBB for this vehicle and its rated for dealer sale at $21,896, and private at $19,680. Getting it at $19,800 is a heck of a deal!!!!
That sounds like a great deal. Now you can spend all that money you saved on modding your ride. First mod is a must, replace the meep meep wimpy horns with some FIAMM Freeway blasters (search Amazon and for the thread on this forum).
Has anyone used the Electronic shifter, available from "Stage 10???" That's the only mod I want to do. The horn sounds easy enough too.
This site (PriusChat) . At least there was one sold through the site at a pretty good discount. I did a quick search but couldn't find it... perhaps Danny or the Mods could direct us to it?
Hardest part of the install is prying up the interior trim pieces. Go slowly so you don't break any of the clips.
