    Hey Everyone

Just added a Torino Air Horn to my Priuc C as I was not very impressed with the OEM horn sound. It was an extremely easy modification and no wires were cut or holes drilled to install this horn.

The horn I used was the Torino Euroblasts Twin Chrom Horn (we sell it in our online store @ Torino Euroblasts Twin Chrome Horns - 139db - FREE SHIPPING) and using a piece of steel backstrap, a small length of 12 gauge wire and some electrical connectors I was able to install this in under 15 minutes.

Only thing I had to do was bump the OEM horn fuse up by 5 amps (not safe to go any higher) to factor in the slightly higher load the air compressor will draw. I did not install an aftermarket relay as the OEM wiring and OEM relay will suffice as long as the horn is not activated for extended periods (more than 1 minute say) at one time. If I decide I would like to activate the horn for longer periods of time (not sure why I would) then I would install a relay.

As you can see in the pics, the horn fits perfect right in the centre of the engine bay along the rad support, and because the casing is chromed it looks pretty cool there!

I have the bad boy horn that I wanted to install in the OEM location but will need to remove the bumper or lower bumper cover to access it. What a difference and air horn makes!

i would have gotten the wolo badboy air horn. installing a relay will not only protect your wiring but will also slightly increase the sound power of the horn. thanks for the video!

The one thing I'd worry about with an air horn is the "spool up" time of the compressor. It doesn't seem to have a sharp attack, if you know what I mean.

That would be a good reason for installing a relay.

the "spool" time is almost nothing! i have a wolo badboy on my bike and its maybe like a half second delay for the horn to get energized. this only applies to the horns like the OP has and the wolo badboy, but if you install one with a separate compressor then that would need to have power all the time in order to stay energized.

I have a Stebel Nautilus on my motorcycle and like the previous poster said the horn is on instantaneously there is no appreciable lag.

Love my Stebel Nautilus! Much better then the dumb road runner beep beep on our cars!

Nice pics and vid. It appears the horn is installed facing toward the driver/passengers. Does this configuration cause the horn to be excessively loud from inside the car and noticeably quieter for vehicles in front? Is there a fix in the pipeline for this? Thanks!

Where the horn is mounted hasn't affected the horn's output at all, you can hear it perfectly outside and as normal on the inside.

Excellent. Have you experienced or are you concerned about dependability issues related to heat, as the horn is mounted behind the radiator? Thanks again.

No heat concerns or reliability concerns, the rad doesn't put out enough excess heat to effect the horn. It's been working perfect for almost a year now, no issues at all.
