Is it just me? Part II: Steering Wheel Contact Allergy?!

I too have a contact allergy to my Prius C4. I've been driving it for 7 months now. After much detective work it is clear that the steering wheel is causing the reaction. I clock in with 10 hours a week for my commute. I started wearing gloves and after just 8 days I'm starting to show some improvement. I'm looking for a permanent solution in the way of a nice steering wheel cover that will fit the C4 properly. Any recommendations?

 

Gen II steering wheel feels like cheese grater to me imho. So a week after I bought it I installed a leather wheelskin. Best steering wheel cover available. First thing I put on all my cars after I buy them. Feels like a different car.

thanks for the suggestion. put on a leather wheelskin cover. it looks and feels great. I'll end up getting one for the wife's car too. However, not sure if this has solved my contact allergy issue.

 

Oh there awesome. Mine's over 5 years old and still looks great. First thing I put on a car I buy.

Do you use your hands all day with tools?

 

I'm also looking for the culprit of a contact dermatitis flare-up. For those of you that suspected the steering wheel was the cause, did purchasing a cover solve your problems, or is the irritation still an issue? - Thank You!
