Escort X50 radar hookup..

    anyone has Escort, Inc 8500 X50 - Best Buy hooked up in their Prius? I have this radar and the charging cable is kinda short..anyway to permanently hook it up without the wires showing.

    I have the Escort 9500iX in my Prius. No problems with cable length. I believe all Escort corded detectors use the same "phone connection" cords. The mounting bracket is attached to the windshield about 2 inches below the rear view mirror.

    Where is your bracket mounted?

    By the way, the 9500iX is an excellent radar detector. It's saved my butt many, many times.

    I have the uniden R1. No problems. Installed it with the 10A fuse labeled as "GAUGE" under the driver's dash fuse box
