Looking for the list of differences between 2012 and 2013 model years. I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Maybe in older threads? I'm planning on purchasing a Prius c (either trim 2 or trim 3) tomorrow. There are quite a few 2012's still left on dealer lots where I live in the SF Bay area (all trim models). I'm on a tight budget, so with dealer discounting and low financing, I thought I'd buy a 2012, but would like to know what the differences are. Toyota dealership sales people have not been able to tell me.
For starters: - 2013 has the 12V battery terminals under the hood - Some of the 2013 C models have their steering wheels wrapped in SofTex
I guess I should have clarified....I couldn't see any cosmetic changes to the 13. My 12 has the steering wheel wrapped in SofTex.
My Australian 2012 c i-Tech has an all-black dash... it's good. With respect to Softex steering wheels, this is a feature for the C4 only (or the i-Tech here).
There's two versions of the 2013 manual on their website. The second version shows a jump start terminal in the driver's side fuse box in the engine bay, for the positive jumper lead.
that's really nice. Makes it so much more convenient to hook up a battery tender, or even wire up some electronics.
Hm, I wonder how much effort it would take to replace or repaint the dash. I am new (came from a Toyota Matrix) and it was all black internally. So nice. The grey in the Prius C (2012, model 2) isn't that appealing in comparison.
Just change out the pieces to black ones. Cost me $125 shipped from an online Toyota OEM parts dealer.
