Picked up a new Habanero Prius C to replace my dying daily driver last week. With how much I drive daily for work 100 miles round trip plus weekends, I actually break even or come out a little ahead by driving the prius. The old car (1992 Acura Legend)got 20mpg on a good day and required 91, plus it needed some extensive repairs in the range of 4-7k. So far after a week with the prius its a great basic car, gets me around town at 50+ mpg, and its relatively roomy for its size. My fun car is a S2000, and fiance has a new 4runner if we need to hual stuff. Did some mods this weekend, tint and HID....hopefuly much more to come.
Welcome and congrats on your new C! I love that last photo of yours, the color looks great. I think you're going to love your car choice. I commute about 80 miles a day and calculated before buying my car, after my Camry died, that I'd cut my fuel costs in half. I think that is exactly what has happened!
Hey another habanero owner! Yeah baby I also commute 50 miles each way for work. Hope yer as happy with yours as I have been with mine!
I haven't updated my profile but I lived there last year, I still work near by in Irvine but now I live in Rancho Palos Verde I 100 is enough for me esp with so cal traffic my fuel cost is less than 1/2 it's prob closer to 1/3. I ran the numbers over and over again and this wa the only car on the market that allows me to break even with the fuel savings. yup I love the color
I just purchased a prius c moon glow. I love this car . I had a Smart car but too small and bad ride. This is a great forum joined today.
markd: we looked at the smart car and the fiat 500 my wife suggested they both look like pregnant roller skates also tried the Honda Fit and Yaris that's when we first saw the C 2 weeks later we have one I b a happy camper image below is from my research I found it on the Internet, it was just lying there
I had a fit before and liked it. I cross shopped the mini and fiat this time. I liked the mini but didn't want to deal with the repairs 5 years down the road. the fiat was ok not sure about long term reliability. ended up with the prius because the decision to purchase this car was purely financial it was the only car that allows me to break even.
Ngo, the Prius C might be the most economical vehicle with four wheels on the road (as long as you don't need to haul anything or go too fast, of course). Great decision!
Welcome to the forum from those down under. We use the Prius for when we need an economical runabout. For anything else, there's the Scirocco
