Well I knew it would happen eventually. I was driving and a truck carrying dirt and rocks lost a rock the size of a golf ball. I see it bouncing towards me waiting for windshield impact and it bounces off my hood! Ouch ! Not terrible but since prius c is my first new car I quickly remembered why I usually buy older cars. It doesn't hurt as bad when it happens! Anyway it looks like 3 small BB gun shots on my hood. It looked like meteor in Russia! lol May or may not fix Keep you posted.
Hate when that happens! Stay well away from any truck carrying stuff, but eventually some road damage has to happen. Bummer. Where on the hood did it get you? It was kind of a meteor hit, come to think of it, though.
It happened to me 2 days after I got my C. No dent thankfully however it damaged the paint 1 spot. The paint pen that the dealer gave me does not quite match. I may get it repainted in a year or 2 so no big deal.
Oh no I got my first chip in my windshield about a month ago or so. But it's so small you really gotta look for it.
aww man that sucks! Ours is only a week old.. I'm really scared of this happening. I drive so far behind other cars and park as far as possible away from the entrance of stores. I know it's inevitable though.
Yes it is. I drive on Long Island expressway and the dump trucks carrying rocks weave in and out of traffic like they are driving Porsches dumping sand and rocks in the process. Can't avoid it. Many broken windshields over the years.
Yes, too bad Get the correct touch-up pen, clean the cr*p out of the area with alchohol, then go slow, paint-in the craters with just a little lap onto adjacent areas, step back 5', defocus a little, it's gone. Or get real serious, fill them in first with a little Bondo.
Ouch. These posts always make me cringe. I've had mine long enough that I've stopped parking super far away from other cars (not an option at my apartment anyway), but I'll still be a sad panda when it gets hit.
Everything Ashley7 just said. I still do a walk-around of the car almost every time I come back to it. I still will use my normal mental parking space scoring system but there are times where you have few options. At home normally the two allocated spots either side of me are empty, but occasionally on one side sometimes an Audi Q7 appears that would not be able to fit within its marked space if it tried. And it doesn't try. I now park slightly towards the other side of my bay rather than centred, if the Q7 is there or not.
Car is taking a beating. It snowed again and a truck splashed priusc with 2000 pounds of slushy wet snow at 35 mph. It caved in the black plastic cover at bottom of bumper next to fog light. Its pushed in. I need to get car on ramps and remove some plastic covers to get to it so I can push it back into place. When it rains it pours. Lol
