Does anyone use a screen protector for their MFD? For those that have had their Prius for a while: does the MFD get scuffed after repeated touches? It would have been nice if they included a D-pad (like on Palm handhelds) to be able to navigate and make selections without touching the MFD. Speaking of having to touch the MFD, is there a way to change CDs (on a 6 CD changer) without pressing on the respecitve button in the Audio screen? It seems that this should have been a function that a button could perform.
If I remember correctly, you can change CDs on your changer by depressing and holding the track up and track down buttons on your steering column. Rick S. 06 Silver Classic w/option NL
I got one from these folks, works well and can hardly tell it is there, cleans well also http://www.lcdprotector.com/vehicle1.htm here is another site http://www.screenpatronus.com/screen-prote...navigation.html
How does this protector compare for reflection and glare? I was ready to get one and then read the description: "Its glossy finish highly simulates the texture of the original LCD screen." I wouldn't think a glossy surface is what one wants in an automotive screen.
I had one from them in for only one day. It was the right size and did not interfere with the MFD operation at all. The reason I removed it was that I could never get it in right without having a bubble or worse, a bit of dust. I admit that I probably could've put it in better. While driving I noticed that my polarized sunglasses caused the MFD to have a rainbow on it. But that's just me, you might have better luck.
lcdprotector is a low gloss finish, no glare, works great. I was able to put it on without any bubbles and it looks fine even with sunglasses.
Are you glasses polorized? It would get bothersome if the protector made it look funny with polorized glasses.
