I own a 2004 Prius and am in the market for a hitch to pull my kayak trailer. Prefer 2" instead of 1.25", but what is the consensus out there. Was going to search the forums, but since the format change, I do not see how to search specific/individual forums any longer. Thanks in advance.
I'd go with the 2" -- but I've never had a hitch on my prius. I just think the 1.25" is too small. Although officially Toyota would say that the Prius shouldn't be used for towing.
you have to hover, then click on the search box, and another box will appear. Then click on "more" and that will give you the advanced search options.
Now to find a 2" hitch. Normally I wouldn't think of towing with the Prius, but yaks + trailer = 200 lbs or less.
I got mine installed at U-Haul, only took about 30 mins and about $125. Couldn't have done it myself any quicker or cheaper!

Is that your's? I think that mini camper trailer looks awesome! I know there are a lot of camper clubs in my area. I'd love to show up with that attached to my prius. Now I just have to convince my wife to allow me to get one!
