Hi guys. As I'm getting used to my Prius I'm starting to notice things. For example, I've noticed some sort of small clear plastic on each of the A pillars: Anyone else have these and know why they are there?
The car probably came with the plastic all over the dashboard, and the dealer did not remove all of it.
Yeah, it looks like the protective film from shipping. Just pull it off gently and you should be good. You should see what these cars look like when they first come off the ship. They are pretty much 'wrapped' in plastic EVERYWHERE.
Yeah, it was plastic covering stuff and they didnt remove all of it, just take it off by gently pulling on it.
Quick update, I've tried gently pulling on them to get them out but they are being stubborn. Anyone know how to get them out properly?
My 2008 still has it - just left it alone - never bothered me. - Mayb its a quick fix to keep the dash from rubbing together and making noises!?
IIRC, the only way to remove the extra plastic is to remove the trim piece. Its best to use a small flat blade screwdriver, with the tip covered with tape (no scratching!). Pry up in the corner closest to the camera (just out of sight in the pic). I also recommend taping nearby areas, meaning the vertical trim.
