Our local Toyota dealer has four Prii available for immediate delivery. One white, one tideland green, one seaside pearl, and one salsa red. All package 4 and all priced at $23,645. The only trick... the dealer is located in Puerto Rico. :mrgreen: Toyotas have been imported to Puerto Rico for a very long time and we receive them straight from Japan.
If I'm not mistaken, #4 is a $1100 package and would bring MSRP to $21910. That's $1735 over MSRP - AND in Puerto Rico to boot. And, the $$$ to ship it here - ?????? Such a deal.
We have higher taxes and for this reason all cars have a higher msrp in Puerto Rico than in the mainland. The msrp here is $23,645 for package 4, although I saw last week a dealer advertising the car for $23,250. It would make little sense to buy a Prius in a dealer in Puerto Rico and then ship it to the mainland, because you would be paying the local tax. However, it may be possible to buy the car and ship it before it leaves the ship yard, and thus before it pays taxes.
