While driving home yesterday the navigation went crazy (2 month old 2012 PIP Std). While it was navigating me it started telling me to make a right while the arrow was pointing left. Then it started recalculating every 4-5 seconds. I turned navigation off and snapped a pick of it having me in the middle of a river. After I shut the car and turned it back on it went back to normal.
Call Toyota so it's documented and have your dealer check it on your next visit. I've never had this problem but then again I have a PiPA.
In my 2012 Five- mine did that one time last summer when we were upstate NY- it showed were were in CA and then just froze up. I pulled in to a gas station- turned the car off, once restarted- it worked properly again and never malfunctioned after that. The NAV in my current PIP has never malfunctioned. After that incident- if I'm going somewhere unfamiliar I always bring my Garmin along...
