This is more of a rant than anything else, but for an environmentally minded car, is it not a little surprising that this is not offered in any shade remotely similar to green? I would have loved emerald green, forest green, hell, even lime green maybe but the summer rain just does not cut it. Even before I was aware of "green" issues, green was my favorite color. I am certainly happy with my Habanero C (except all the remarks about how I must be a Clemson fan... I'm not) but I would have paid extra for green.
The Nissan LEAF doesn't even come in green and it's called a LEAF... For some reason these "green" cars don't come in green.
You don't see many green cars on the road nowadays. I suspect they've learned over time that they don't sell and it's not worth producing them.
yeah a lot of my coworkers etc think my Habanero is the "burnt orange" of the Texas Longhorns. it's not even CLOSE to that. way brighter orange than "burnt" orange. I put TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY and SEC stickers on the back window. I was gonna do that no matter what car I bought...I didn't do it because someone thought it was "burnt orange".
I'da bought a green one too. In my case, with the colors available, I just told my dealer "Any color but silver." My choices of C4s that were on the lot that day were Red, Silver or Magnetic Gray. So, I got gray.
Being from Georgia, I get that I must be a University of Florida fan all the time... which I hate. Not because I live in Georgia, but because I'm a Seminoles fan.
I would have loved a super bright green like Ford's got for some of their cars right now. It surprises me too. They really went for the fun colors with SRM and Habanero, but not the bright green, which I feel like I've seen all over the place recently.
Boy, you touched a nerve with me. The choice of colors is limited and very poor. I ended up purchasing the silver grey. I am seriously thinking of getting it repainted to something that I like. I thought that they might offer something better for 2013 but it appears that no new colors are being offered.
I came from a yellow Saturn and saw they had a yellow PC... boy was I disappointed. I had to go with the next most obscene color.
I like the Blue Streak, Summer Rain is pretty nice, and I think the charcoal grey looks good. Never been fond of all white or black for a car, and I think the silver or light grey are too easily lost to the vision. A good red or burgundy would have been nice, and I, too, am greatly disappointed that no shades of green are available.
To me, maroon and burgundy are the same, lol. I just found out that there is good red... wouldn't have been my choice, but nice to know that it's out there for those who go in for that kind of thing.
The guy who did my paperwork told me that either the C or just the Prius in general originally came in a green color, but they couldn't beg people to buy them. They were constantly selling them really cheap because no one wanted the color.
Was probably the original. This is the first year for the C. In 2001 the Prius came in "Electric Green Mica"... it was an ugly green.
My eyes!... my eyes! (in that order). I didn't realise how much that version doesn't look like a Prius, especially from this angle.
The Liftback also came in a light green (Silver Pine Mica), but I like that one alright and see it all the time. It's not quite the kind of green we're talking about here, though.
The 2004 Prius was the first of the "Liftback" Prii... but I have to wonder. Since the first Prius was the first Prius, wouldn't all others afterward be different? So in essence, no Prius looks like a Prius because they all are different from the first. Ok, now that I have thoroughly confused myself... here is the '04 Prius in "Tideland Pearl".
