I love my Prius 2012 package IV, the HD radio in the JBL sound system sounds amazing, the problem is the antenna i believe, sucks... I've read in some other websites that if you install a Shark antenna, the signal is better... is it true? if it is, which antenna do you recommend? at eBay they sell them for $7.99, aren't they way too cheap? is it hard to install?
If you have the solar roof make sure the shark antenna does not overlap. You need to get the smaller version.The install is tricky you need to glue it to the car also. I'm ok with the OEM antenna. Just unscrew it before you go through the carwash.
I would recommend not going cheap on it. I plan on getting a shark fin in a month from the Prius Chat store. They will match your car color.

got my fin the other day. Installed very easy and it looks nice. I never really liked shark fins, but I like this better than the antenna. Especially now that I don't have to worry about it when running my car through a car wash. I always had to remember to remove the old antenna as I didn't want it to get bent too far.
Re: Signal Strength I have a Shark Fin antenna from the Prius Shop. Before making the final install, I connected the Shark Fin antenna and picked a weak distant radio station as a test. There was no change in reception with either the OEM or SharkFin. Basically, the Shark Fin antenna won't worsen or improve your signal strength. It should remain the same.
