Hi everyone just bought my new Prius c 1 and I love it. Have a question. I bought the Toyota extra care extended warranty & realized the finance manager ripped me off. He sold it to me for 2k. It was my mistake for not checking the paperwork. Now I still want the extended warranty but not for 2k after reading other Prius c owners threads stating they got theirs for 1k. Any suggestions or legal recourses I have?
Look at the list prices here: Toyota Financial Services Did you pay the list price? If so, you just paid the list price.
the hybrid battery and hybrid propulsion system is covered for 8 yrs 100,000 miles. I bought the extended warranty that covers all the computer systems and everythng else in the car for 7 yrs, 100,o00 miles
Call the finance office and let them know you will return it and would like your money back. It will be adjusted, pro-rated. I've done it with all my vehicles I've sold before the extended warranty has expired.
I cancelled. There was a $50 (or so) service charge, and the refund had to go directly to the finance company (to be applied to the principle of the loan).
Wising I had found this forum before going t the dealer to "look" at new cars...I would have likely declined the extended warranty after realizing my driving habits will more than likely outpace the useful life of such an expensive product... that and I am seriously mechanically inclined with access to a fully equipped auto hobby shop should a repair be necessary outside f the factory warranty. Another factor I'm taking into consideration is my 2004 RAV 4 (traded in, got 4000.00 for it) had 156000 miles on it an I never did anything to it other than routine maintenance/ wear parts. My experience with Toyotas has always been this way, since my first experiences with one when dad bought an 1981 SR5 4WD truck and my first toy at 16 was a mini-truck which I drove the hell out of and it NEVER left me stranded anywhere! So with all that said...I'm about to cancel the extended warranty while I still have time to do so.
