I would love to have a second charging cable. My one for home is my upgraded (220) EVSE PIP oem cable, and I'd like a second one for 110 outlets around town.

I see Volt 2011 cables at various prices, much less than a new oem from Toyota.

I wonder if the new Ford plugin cable will work and how much it is?

I recall early on, last May, some folks trying cables from the Volt and they didn't work... maybe the newer ones work.

Anyone using or find a second cable for a decent price ($300) for our PIPs ?

    Thanks!

Consider searching a junkyard - most PiPs will carry their EVSe in the back.

note that older Volt EVSEs were incompatible with the pip. i believe the 2012 MY was the first year in which they worked without a hitch.

Chances are, finding a used one at a reasonable price will be a challenge. I wouldn't pay a premium for one. With Level 2 chargers becoming more reasonable, why not go that route? You have the EVSE upgraded cable. Do you have a 24ov line at home? I went with a Level 2 charger at home and my factory cable is in transit to CA for upgrade. Nothing is cheap, but looking long term, that's what I chose.

I have seen a few of the Clipper Creek level 1 chargers for sale on ebay for well under $400. These are "pre-owned", but often come with a 3 year warranty from the seller.

I got a Toyota one off ebay to use and leave at work. Mine was $505, there have been a few from 450 to 750 over the last few months.

At those prices, wouldn't it make more sense to get a L2 charger at Home Depot for $650 and have Uncle Sam pay for half of it and installation?

I already have a 220 outlet at home I'm using with my upgraded cable. so I don't really need a full charger, or anything else at home. I just want a 110 capable cable for my car when out and about. How is it that Uncle Sam pays for half of an L2 + installation, a tax credit? Which program is that ? Something where net costs are $325 ? I suppose I could consider it, just for the extra cable.

$300 would be used ... if you're lucky.
