I am interested in building my own version of the V1V to install in my prius. I have read through this thread and noticed you have made some changes to the original. Do you have an updated schematic or parts list available?

    Thanks,

    Brent

All the schematics are in my head. I have no way of putting it on a diagram. Even if I put it in a diagram, only I would understand it. I'll try to make the schematic available when I have time. I am swamped with work til December.

interesting thread and product, and initially I voted yes and was gung ho to disable the speed lockouts, but I've gotten to the point that I could not care less about the entire nav system and don't care that I can't access any of it while driving. I've grown accustomed to never using any of it except aux in and ipod controls. in fact i wish it didn't have a nav or any of that entune crap at all as I'll never use any of it again and it's a waste of space for better technology.

but anyways I like your product cproaudio. good work putting it together and the support you've provided.

All orders up to 01-03-2013 will be shipped out Friday. All new orders will ship out 4-8 weeks after the date of your order. Sorry guys. I just don't have that much time to make the bypass. If anything changes I will update the OP. Thanks for being patient.

I'm interested in playing DVD's on the move, don't really care for the Nav grey outs. Do I need the V3V or is it different for the DVD only?

Great news Everyone. I have finished my last batch of the overrides. They will be shipping in 1-2 days after your order date. No more 4 weeks wait. All January orders have been shipped out. You should get yours within 1 week. The bad news is that once this batch is sold out, I will no longer offer them. They take too much time to make and I have ran out of parts. I have updated post 1 on stock level.

As a follow up, I got more information from Prestigious Society regarding compatibility issues and their new "switchless" lockout preventer for the 7th generation hdd nag:

"The system that you installed in your 2010 Prius is not compatible with any of the 2012 Prius as the 2012 Prius are using the 7th Generation navigation system. Your order system is compatible with most Toyota without the Entune system.

We offer the new application for the 2012 Prius. The new application is significantly different from the old one. First of all, the new application no longer has a separate switch. To activate our system and access the navigation related motion lockouts, you simply press - - + + on the volume control buttons located on your steering wheel. To deactivate the system you will enter the same sequence again.

In addition to the navigation motion lockouts, the DVD playback will be permanently enabled. Since you have the Premium HDD Navigation, it is capable of play DVD while the car is park with parking brake engaged. Upon installing our system, the DVD playback is always available without activating anything. It will not impact your navigation GPS function."

I installed a V1V yesterday in my 2013 Prius Four with no problem outside of taking more time than anticipated to route the wires down to the cigarette lighter. It took me about the same amount of time to do this task than to complete the entire job (total time to install ~3hrs) The issue I am having is when a DVD is playing the video keeps swapping over to the Map every 15-20 seconds for half a second or so then switches back to the DVD. This issue does not happen when the switch is off and I'm parked w/parking brake on.

Any suggestions on how to resolve?

    Thank you!!!

    Steve

I installed V1 in my 2012 today. Removing the cigarette lighter panel proved troublesome... accidentally broke off the little plastic safety cap and still couldn't get the panel to flex enough to pop loose or get a finger in. Finally used the "thumb" trick and wedged a thin plastic tool (the kind you pry iPod cases open with) into the tiny gap. So be careful here and don't just pry on the lighter to loosen the panel if it resists.

Brief confusion because I was reading instructions as I went and couldn't find the grey connector on the back of the radio. Those are the 2010 instructions. There is also a 2012 section describing the right white connector in great detail.

Lost some time on my "dry run" using the diagnostics screen because my bypass, when switched on, reads 0 MPH when functioning properly. This, of course, is what it would read sitting still. I expected it to show a couple of MPH, so ended up re-crimping my connectors at the radio with no change. Took it for the live drive test and it all worked fine. With by-pass off, radio reports proper speed and, when on, reports zero. So if you're pretty comfortable you've done the installation properly and have an "on" light at the switch, try the road test if your dry run is ambiguous.

Very well designed kit and the instructions are very thorough. Installation was under 2 hours, even when I dropped my 10 mm socket down under the shifter. :censored:

If you've installed any kind of car stereos or the like, you can easily install this mod.

Thanks to cproaudio for doing all of this work. I don't know if anyone has the answer to this, but I would love to try to make this and put it in my 2010 RAV4. I wonder though if I'd be able to install it...anybody know how different it would be or if I could even use the harness? Thanks in advance.

The V1 and V3 in the priuschat shop will work the RAV4. It's the same plug as the the 2010 Prius.

I'm considering a backup-assist mod that would be really sweet if the sensors could overlay their video on the display. Does anyone have schematics or know if it's possible to splice in a RCA connector (the typical yellow-wire) to provide external video?
