To be honest I get an average 47-51 depending on if I use the AC it might drop to maybe 45-46 depending on how hard I drive, and also if my wife drives it, she doesn't care she just drives it. But if I remember I will reset B and leave it alone, and hopefully take a pic of every 10000. I am also curious to know is there anybody willing to claim 2nd place.
Update: Just checking in 122000. Tires still original maybe another 10 - 20000 miles I hope. Everything other than oil, and filters still original. Getting ready to change the trans fluid and spark plugs. That about it.
wow! 2fast4u your cost of ownership must be close to 0! wouldn't toyota might be intersted to find out how you kept your originial tires / equipment over 120000 miles.
UPDATE: 145000 Just giving an update on my progress. Believe it or not, the only things so far I have done. 1. Change oil every 10000, filter every 5000 2. Change air filter. 3. Change cabin filter. 4. Original tires. Still have about I believe 10 - 20000 to go. Cannot believe it myself. I will take a pic of the tires. 5. My goal at 150 i will change trans oil, spark plugs and pvc valve. About 100 in maintenance, not bad. Tires about 400. 500 bucks not bad. Keep u guys posted. P.S. no signs of oil burning at the moment.
2 fas 4 u whats your ratio in terms of highway / city ? the way your driving, you might hit 200,000 before we have someone else hit 100,000
UPDATE: 150000 All is well, this prius remains maintenance free as of today. Exceptions oil, air filter cabin filter. In the next couple of days I will change the tranny oil and spark plugs along with the pcv valve. Tires will also be replaced. Only because I need to keep this car as long a possible. No signs of of oil burning. I replaced the arm rest with a leather cover, went to a shoe repair cost 16 dollars. With that my friends pic on the way see u later at 200000.
2 fas, Where do you drive it to get that kind of miles so soon? And what is your reasoning on changing the filter so often. I'd have seen people change em every 2 oil changes (accepting the fact that the first change in the sequence isn't a complete oil change) but never the reverse. Ever do any Used Oil Analysis?
It was disscussed meny time. 2fas4u works for a medical goods distribution company (or something similar) and he makes about 800miles/day. Replacing the cabin air filter is a good strategy when you spend a lot of time inside the car. The oil filter change frequency is based on the Toyota's maintenance schema, no questions when your car is under warranty.
That's amazing -- replacing tires, spark plugs and transaxle oil at the same time. I am sure you are still on your original brake pads.
I remember when I was a kid in High School, I bought new tires on Friday night, and by Saturday morning they were bald!!! Bias ply were $20.00 each installed.
