Nice! Not sure if you know or not but I am very well known on rennlist. p-car.com is my site, which is dedicated with the 993 air cooled 911.
17" TRD Prius P wheels came in today. Surprisingly the box said "Made in Taiwan". You hardly see anything made in Taiwan anymore, I am glad at least it is not made in China. But for $1200 it would be too cheap to be made in Japan. When you order the wheels from the dealer make sure you order the lug nut kit with it, the dealer didn't know so I have to wait one more day before I can get them installed!
No but I will check it. The 97' 993 Turbo S is by far my favorite Porsche of all time! The last of the good ones. I'm only 37 but I still know a proper Porsche.
012313 - Purchased new Prius Plug-In Advance. 013013 - Removed factory Prius Plug-In alloy wheels and replace with a used set of Prius 5 17" wheels and Continental 215/45/17 DSW tires. More mods to come.
MrP did you go 20% rear and 35% on the fronts? I just did 20% rear and 50% in the front. I am SO sick of tint tickets. Have a dozen +
Actually the windows are not tinted, must be the angle this picture was taken at made it look like it's tinted. But I do plan to have all the windows tinted. 50/20 sounds pretty good to me, I don't like full dark tint all around.
what was the total cost of wheels and tires? Id love to get a set of these. Also what kind of MPG loss have you experianced?
Bought the wheels from the local Toyota dealer, $1220 for the set, needs special lug nuts and locking nut $102. Tires I went with Goodyear assurance max tires $130 each total including install was $671. MPG? A lot has to do with driving techniques, I can always manage to get 50+ mpg, but my wife only gets 40 mpg. But it's all icing on the cake for us when you are coming from 14 mpg. Oh yeah, TRD rear sway bar $237. Going on this weekend.
Are these something that can be kept on all winter? ( from michigan ) or would the stock wheels be better fit for winter conditions?
Sorry, I wouldn't know anything about winter driving as I am in southern California. The over inflated houses and property taxes prevents me from thinking about winter.
