I have a puzzle...my 2010 IV 12volt battery went dead a few days ago. Drove 100 miles the day before, didn't leave anything on, but dead as can be next day. Charged the battery in the rear, took the charge normally, then took it to the dealer, they checked the battery 3 times, all ok. Now when I go to start the car, the display shows "keyfob battery low". So I tested it, moving progressively farther back and operating the door lock/unlock function. Seems to have perfectly good range. Question is: what's going on?
Our 2010 started displaying the low fob battery, about 2 years post-purchase. Again, seemed to be working ok, apart from the warning. So, could just be coincidence. I replaced the batteries in both fobs, figuring it was time.
i had the same problem, replaced a new battery and 2 weeks later got the msg saying the low fob battery. But I took the battery out and tested it and it has 100% health. I swaped back to the old one, and it worked fine. Anyone know what the problem is ? thanks !!
I replaced my keyfob battery as well after 3+ years reliable service and almost daily usage. I simply bought Energizer lithium CR1632 from local electronic DIY shop.
Well i went to the Toyota dealer to get filter and oil to do my oil change and when i shut the car off in their parking lot it gave me the low key fob battery message. I didn't feel like another stop so i just bought them with my oil change stuff.
