Car isn't ringing but bluetooth phone is

Now this is weird.
My car definitely rings, unless the V600 is in "vibrate" or "silent" modes.

Bluetooth connection takes about 15 seconds for the above mentioned phone.

 

Verizon doesn't have BlueTooth phones!

 

I think that the radio mutes automatically and the answer screen comes up on the center display. You can then press the left phone button on the wheel (the one with the handset lifted up) and that answers the phone. I don't think the car "rings".

I have the same T608 on Sprint and the phone and the car work beautifully together. However, I haven't had it very long and have not gotten many calls in the car. I will pay closer attention to this. In fact, I may have my wife call me tomorrow just to check this out. I seem to remember a ring, but it could be my imagination or those bells in my head!

Someone said the screen on this phone is small, and that is true, but if you use if mostly in the car, it's not noticeable.

I have the T608, and I've seen the same behavior pjdemmitt explains above. The phone rings and the car does not. I'd prefer if the ring came through the speaker, but between the phone ringer and the screen displaying "Incoming Call" (sometimes with caller ID, sometimes without), I don't believe I have missed any calls.

I have occasionally had a problem with calls being on the phone rather than the car. I'll test this further & post about it if it's an ongoing problem.

 

On the Motorola V600, there is a menu setting called "Car Setup"
One on the choices in that menu is "Auto answer". If you turn this feature "ON" then the Prius will answer the call automatically without a ring. If you turn it "OFF", the Prius will ring, however, you have to press the answer button (on steering wheel) to answer the call.
Kinda counter intuitive!!

 

My car rings. I have a Sony T-608 on VERIZON. It works perfectly, phone book and all. I just reset the phone to leave Bluetooth on all the time. That's much easier for me and the phone battery still lasts all day. I'm just waiting for the hack to allow dialing while the car is moving as my wife generally does the driving. I did that hack for the GPS without any problem.
My only problem (minor) is that the one touch memories get cleared when I reload the phone book. I'll have to start just adding the new numbers not simply overwritting the entire book.

 

Any idea how to get the car to ring instead of the T608?

Me too, with the T608. I would guess it happens 25% of the time with my first phone call of the drive. Normally, I just hang up and try again. It always works properly then, and all subsequent calls will work through the speaker too.

 

My connection verification time varies from just a few seconds to as long as 90 seconds and so far, there is no discernable pattern (at least to me!) to the delays based on phone position, phone battery strength, etc. Looks like a ripe area for experimentation.

 

In the Bluetooth Menu (5), select Headset Sound (6), then In Handsfree (1). I rarely have a problem although it happens after I use the Jabra which must change one of the settings. I'm going to delete the Jabra as I don't like it and I never had any problems in the car before I added the Jabra.
P.S. My connection time is about 10 seconds or sooner if I touch the Make Call button on the stering wheel.

 

Yeah, those are my settings, and they always stay set that way.
Nevertheless, the car *never* rings when I have an incoming call. As someone else described, the stereo mutes, the screen changes to incoming call, and the phone rings. Maybe I should try changing some other ringer settings as well ...

I also am still having occasional problems with the first call appearing to be on the car's sound system, but actually being on the phone. I have had this happen both when making and receiving calls.

No problems for subsequent calls though.

 

When you get an incoming call, press the option button (lower left) lightly and you'll get another menu. One of those choices is to Transfer the sound to the car. Try that.

I think that I need to just make a call when getting into the car each time (voicemail?) and then I'll be fine. I am spoiled now and don't like to take my hands off the wheel to fiddle with the phone menus
