Hi everyone, New 2013 Prius Touring owner (what U.S. owners would call a Prius 5 probably). I'm trying to set the correct gas price on my Prius but i'm unsure of what $ value I should be putting. Since we are in Litres here, is the price I set based on cost per litre? I noticed that many of the menus (fuel consumption, etc) are based on litres per 100km. Could someone give me an example of what price I would put? The owners manual tells you little more than 'set the current gas price here', and looking at my trip meter, the cost that it calculates seems to be off. I'll update this thread with some photos as soon as soon as the weather clears up (it's been raining here for the past 3 days!!).
Congrats on the new buy! I don't know for sure, but does the mph/kph button by the clock settings adjust for your gas measurements? Maybe you get all all English or all metric.... When you go through the settings, press and hold Display. Then quickly hit display to scroll and get to the gas price, use the display key to change the price. The display will show you, increase price with display button, decrease price with the trip button. It'll time out and save when you are done. Good luck!
I think I found what value I should set. $1.22 per litre. (For those wanting to compare, that is equivalent to about $4.62 a gallon)
Ouch, and here I gripe about $3.49!! I was playing more with the settings on my '12 and see I was wrong, I don't understand why choosing km/hr on the dash doesn't also change the fuel consumption data to km. It only changes the speedo. Is it the same for Canadian or European models?
