The engine check light is ON this morning. It said that there are problems for the hybrid system on the display. I sent it to dealer immediately. Just got a call from dealer. They told me that it is possible the charging cable causing this problem. But after I talked with persons before /after my using the charging station. There is no any problem for the charging station/charging cable. Any thoughts?
Well I got this last week when I was doing some work on my car, I had the interior lights on for quite awhile, hours actually. It freaked me out quite a bit, but it was late at night when I got it so there wasn't really anything I could do about it at that time. So I rolled the dice and hoped I knew what it was, so I took it on the highway and drove it like 10 miles each way, got back and tested it several times and the messages went away. I have to say that hybrid system message is pretty scary lol. Been 10 days now with me driving every day and I have never seen the problem again. Not saying it's the same case with you, but a low voltage 12V battery will cause this problem. Hope it helps, if not it's something to be aware of in the future.
Thanks for your information. dealer said the problem is gone after they re-set the codes. They insisted that the problem is coming from the charging cable.
kong, the volt also uses a CEL (check engine light) to notify of charging issues. A simple drop in voltage to the charger at your worksite can set it off. Usually a few power cycles of the car will reset the CEL.
The charging cable seems no problem. After I used last morning, 3 persons used this charging cable, they said no problem at all.
